Empty Tuesday at two
Monday early evening fills itself. Tuesday afternoon, Wednesday at ten, Thursday at one. That's where a club's profitability is decided.
A booking system can show you the slot is free, and nothing more. It has nobody to tell and nothing to offer them.
For an empty slot to fill, three things have to happen at once: someone has to hear about it, they have to have someone to play with, and it has to be a game worth showing up for. Community and rating take care of all three.
A rating that's verified, predictable and easy to understand
Verified
A level is computed from matches played, not from self assessment. It's built on TrueSkill, the rating system Microsoft developed to match players on Xbox. A new player starts with a short questionnaire, but a few matches later the data corrects it. A level can't be bought or self assigned.
Predictable
Every level shows how confident it is. The first few matches swing it, after fifteen it settles, after thirty it's stable. You can see that at a glance and know when the number is safe to seed a tournament with.
Understandable
One number from 1.0 to 7.0. No points, no divisions, no table to decode. A player knows what 3.4 means and who they'll get a real game against. The level is free for every player on Ace. It also works across clubs, cities and countries: when a player comes to you from another club, their level comes with them.
A tournament opened for level 3.0 to 4.0 fills with players at that level. An open match doesn't end with one player crushing the rest and nobody coming back. Players who get a close match come back for another, with no marketing from you.
Five tools to build your club community
Open matches
A player posts a match, the community fills the missing spots. A club can post a match too and offer up the open slot.
Tournaments
A Thursday night Americano is the cheapest way to fill four courts at once and bring in new faces.
Clubhouse
The club wall. Tournament photos, news, results. A place players come back to even when they're not playing.
Broadcast
An announcement that lands as a notification under your club's name, instead of an email nobody opens.
Coaches
A coach gets a profile and a schedule. Players book a private lesson, or join a group training, which puts working with a coach within reach of more players.
How this turns into full courts
- 1
The club posts a tournament or an open match in FullClub
- 2
Players see the event in the Ace app, even ones who don't know the club yet
- 3
The rating pairs players so the match is a close one
- 4
Players play, the result is logged, the level moves
- 5
Players come back and bring others
After that it runs on its own. Your part is posting when you have a free slot.
No courts of your own? You can run the community side on its own.
Leagues, company groups, crews that play across different venues. Members, tournaments, the wall and announcements all work without the booking module. Free, like everything else.
